Dear ACT NOW members, Dear Friends, I am writing you a week before Pesach about a most important matter. As you know, last week Ehud Olmert and the Kadima Party emerged victorious from the Israeli elections. Coming in second place was the Labor Party. The National Camp is fractured, splintered and will most certainly not have much influence in the next government. Kadima's declared intention is the unilateral retreat from most of Judea and Samaria. They plan to abandon many settlements and coerce tens of thousands to move West of the security fence. This policy of unilateral retreat places the settlement enterprise in grave danger, jeopardizes the physical safety of most in the territories and moreover emboldens Hamas in their Jihadi effort to eliminate all of Israel. As many of you may be aware, I am deeply involved with the Noah/Hevron Heights Winery in Qiryat Arba. This winery was founded by three French Jews who made aliyah, invested millions of dollars of their own money and brought winemaking back to the heart of Judea, just a short distance from Marat HaMachpelah, the Tomb of the Patriarchs. This is tachliss Zionism of the highest order. I also have one or two shekels in this. For the settlement enterprise to survive - better yet for it to prosper - there must be jobs and industry, not just charity. At Passover we are all obligated to consume four cups of wine at each Seder. We have an opportunity to give concrete chizuk to the Jews of Hebron and fly the Zionist flag on our Yom Tov tables by making sure we bring a piece of Hebron into our homes. Wine from the Galilee and Golan will not help Hebron. Wine from California will not help Hebron. Wine from Italy will not help Hebron. Please stand with me in bolstering the settlement enterprise in these most precarious times and send a message to everyone at your seder tables that Hebron is high priority this holiday. Please look for wines with the following brands and labels. Please ask your local wine retailer to carry these products: These wines will also enhance your Seder experience because thank G-d, they are also excellent. They have received dozens of medals over the past few years and excellent reviews from some of the world's top wine critics. You can find out more about the wines from Hebron by visiting our website at the following URLs: _http://www.abarbanel.com/wines/noah.shtml_ I want to take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you a Chag Kasher V'Samayach and thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, P.S. Feel free to e-mail me if you need help finding the wines or call us toll-free at 1-888-691-WINE (9463). |
